Public Domain Noise Projects

Below is a list of selected public-domain noise projects currently active with NoiseNet.  In these projects, the community, the noise regulator and those businesses, groups or individuals that are contributing to noise have together agreed to share data on the current noise situation on a public platform.  Sharing common data helps focus people on identifying the real issues, and taking the most efficient and cost effective approaches to resolving those issues.

PickleBall Noise Action Group

With the exploding poplarity of pickleball across the USA, many HoA's and many towns and cities are under pressure to convert tennis courts or install new pickleball courts. Unfortunately, despite the highly impulsive and incessant noise, these are often located in close proximity to residents and other spaces where quiet is important. NoiseNet is working with a coalition of victims, planners, local government to deploy an affordible means of assessing noise impact and regulating the use of these facilities.

Barangaroo Cutaway Noise & Vibration Monitoring

A spectacular new underground event space is being completed under the Barangaroo parklands in Sydney by our client FDC construction.  As part of the construction program the need to monitor noise and vibration levels potentially affecting residential housing and heritage buildings in the vicinity of the site. NoiseNet has installed a series of connected noise and vibration monitors providing around the clock tracking and alerting of noise and vibration exceedances.

San Antonio Noise Taskforce

The City of San Antonio established a task force in Fall 2021 to better assess and resolve noise complaints.
NoiseNet is providing assistance to the city to gather data on critical noise sites to help the task force deliver better results.
